Melissa & Josh

Clark and I recently teamed up on an incredible event in Belize. Melissa and Josh came to us with a great base: host a wedding in Belize, hold the reception at the incredible Azul Resort and Rojo Lounge, and make it beautiful. They wanted a foraml, elegant reception that had a sophistocated, but relaxed feel.

We designed the entire event (floral, linens, decor, etc) here in Pittsburgh, then coordinated all details with their wonderful Belize coordinator, Iraida, and Azul Resort owner, Vivian. We loved working with them!

We worked with a few local vendors to help us out with some of the details. Anne Lehman did a beautiful job on the placecards and table numbers. She took Melissa's base and my wacky ideas and make it all work. Thank you, Anne! Michelle at Table Attire worked tirelessly to find the perfect fabric for the custom table linens. The final selection was perfect. We delivered custom linens that were flawlessly fabricated and beautifully presented. Great job, Michelle.

Clark and I flew down a few days before the wedding to check out the site and start on-site coordiantaion and scheduling with everyone there. And we, of course, wanted to scout some great spots for shooting.

The photography was a blast. Great light, great setting, great couple. Melissa and Josh made our job FUN. They are wonderful and we wish them all the best.

Melissa & Josh - Rehearsal Dinner

Great crowd, great venue, great event. Our introduction to the extended group was fantastic. We had a ton of fun getting to know everyone and got some great shots along the way, too...

February 9

Today we delivered gorgeous floral arrangements for Elizabeth's bat mitzvah celebration at the Omni.

The event was gorgeous. We provided our "blueprint" event design services and signature floral. The reception looked amazing. Spectacular tall balloon arrangements from Balloonatics perfectly complimented our lower floral centerpieces. The centerpieces looked fantastic in pink antique mercury glass cylinders (with matching votive holders). We filled the arrangements with a stunning mix of red roses, light pink spray roses, plum grapes, red and hot pink alstromeria, and hot pink anemones. The taller arrangements for the reception table and entrance arrangement included curly willow, hot pink alstromeria, calypso mokara orchids, white dendrobium orchids, viburnum, and red James Storeii orchids. Gorgeous!

Pics to come soon...

Maria & Matt

What a busy weekend! Clark, Beverly, Donna and I teamed up to provide floral, event design, and photography services for Maria and Matt's wedding Friday night.

What a great event! The James Gallery was the perfect setting for a spectacular celebration. The standing ceremony was beautiful and absolutely fitting for the occasion. The cocktail reception that followed was one of the best we've seen. Friends and family gathered to celebrate the marriage and to share their joy for Maria and Matt.

Vanessa from Studio-E provided a custom-tailored music list for the evening's tunes (an awesome vibe with tunes from artists such as Outkast, Israel Kamakawiwo Ole', Michael Buble, and others).
La Creme served up delicious eats, tapas-style. The highlight of the evening was the cupcake-cutting with delicious treats from Vanilla Pastry Studio, accompanied by La Creme's delicous s'mores (silver tray service only, of course). All this in a beautifully designed event space (if I do say so, myself). We provided our modern cube furniture for a laid-back lounge setting and highlighted spectacular white birch branch arrangements with great lighting from ADS Lighting. Great work, Andy!

Thanks to Maria and Matt for an incredibly fun, interactive planning process. The event was amazing and we are so happy to have worked with you on it!

Andrea & Kevin

We've been busy designing albums for all our clients. Andrea and Kevin celebrated a specatular wedding reception at the Carnegie Museum's Hall of Architecture. Check out their initial album design below...

Emily and Todd Album

Allison and I teamed up to shoot Emily and Todd's wedding in July 2007. We had a blast! Emily and Todd were so much fun and had a gorgeous wedding aboard the Gateway Clipper. It was one of those incredible Pittsburgh summer days (we call them a "California blue-sky" day because they remind us of the amazing, virtually-cloudless blue skies we love in LA). The photos are fantastic!

Emily and Todd have been busy since the wedding, but we were recently able to sit down and review the initial album design. Check it out...

Megan and Mario - New Year's Eve

Megan and Mario rolled in from Chicago to celebrate a New Year's Eve wedding at The Duquesne Club. We love shooting there... always beautiful event spaces, exceptionally nice staff, and impeccable service.

It was a gorgeous wedding. Everything from the ceremony, to the signature mojitos, the incredible floral (by Allison), delicious food, and great music made for a really fun night.

Megan and Mario were so awesome. Laid-back, ready to enjoy the wedding celebration and to welcome the new year with friends and family. They made my job easy!

Shiv and Dahlia - Nov 27

Clark and I worked together designing a beautiful wedding for Shiv and Dahlia. Both the ceremony and brunch reception were held at the SV Temple in Penn Hills. Our thanks go out to the Client, the temple and the contractor...Despite major construction at the temple, we were able to pull off a gorgeous event.

We were honored to be invited to attend the ceremony. A traditional ceremony is truly an incredible experience and we were thrilled to share in the event. The love and light-heartedness shared by the couple was fun to see during what turned into a rice-pouring event!

With beautiful traditional Indian wedding floral decorations from a company from New York, great lighting by our favorite lighting tech, Andy, and beautiful linens, china, and other decor elements, the spaces were completely transformed.

A few pics below show the reception...

Megan and Paul - November 2-3

Allison and I teamed up to shoot Megan and Paul's wedding and reception. To quote Dane Cook, we had a blasty. It was a two day event. On Friday, the wedding party met in the lobby of the Omni William Penn and walked as a group to the Allegheny County Courthouse. The ceremony was held on the grand stairs. Megan and Paul made the choice to face the large window at the top of the stairs. Great Light! I highly recommend it for anyone getting married there. Lunch followed at the Grand Concourse. The reception the next day was held at the Edgewood Club. What a perfect time of year for this really cool venue. A great group and fun crowd. Megan and Paul were so gracious and charming. Throughout the night I couldn't help but realize the overwhelming joy of family and friends coming together and celebrating. Great food by Grecco's and an unusually cool and quiet DJ...I have to find out who he is. Here are a few pics. Check back in less than a week for an album preview.

First Time Blogger

Hey, everyone, welcome to my blog! My name is Clark McGeary and I'm a wedding photographer living in the most liveable city, Pittsburgh, PA. I live in Pgh with my awesome wife, Allison (an incredible photographer, by the way) my constantly amazing daughter, Reese, and our 2 Australian Cattle Dogs, Zoe and Blue, or as we like to call them, ZoBear and Mr Blue. Most people who know me know that I'm not so big on writing. So why start a blog? I figure that if you're going to trust me to photograph the most important day of your life, you should have a chance to get to know me a little. And maybe see some great photos along the way. Thanks for reading,

Clark
